I wanted to share our experience with ligature resistance product testing. Whitehall recently sent our new WHD-TH Towel Hook to the UK for Building Research Establishment Ltd (BRE) testing. They used a variety of thin wires, both high friction and low friction, as well as bed sheets. For one test they even used a shoe to pound a nail into the body of the towel hook. The results for each material are shown, but there doesn’t seem to be an overall pass/fail determination. The testing and report are both very comprehensive. However, we’re not able to share the report or even any portion of the report with anyone outside of our company. The cost of the testing was around $8,000.
This is very interesting and helpful! Thank you so much for sharing.
