This is a question that originated in the Pediatric Environment Network (PEN) and didn’t really get a good response so I am reposting here in hopes that someone in the BMHEN can provide some feedback.
Can anyone share their strategy for Behavioral Health modified rooms in your ICUs? Our new PICU, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and Stepdown units will have dual arm booms which present a major ligature risk. We are working through if we modify any of these ICU rooms and there is also not clear guidance from FGI as Med/Pysch rooms only apply to Med/Surg Beds. Thanks!
