After hearing from our friends at Seattle Children’s Magnuson Clinic, a few of you asked me about a solution to quiet the latching hardware on doors. I’m happy to share that yes, we do have a solution:
Please take a look at this video (SilentPac™ by Accurate)
In here you can see a comparison between a standard “commercial” lockset with our QUIET commercial lockset (we can also offer Quiet Solutions under our Behavioral locksets!)
There are two ways we address the noise created by a lockset when the door closes or opens:
- Slowing the “snap-back” of the handles (SilentPac discs that are compatible with mostly any commercial levers)
- Quieting the latch (via a nylon component) in addition to dampeners inside the lock body (available only when using our mortise locks)
Please take a look at this website that goes over these features: SilentPac by Accurate
We are putting together an email blast featuring this solution on a ligature resistant lockset but that would probably take a couple of weeks.
Happy to answer any questions you may have.
Best,
Monica
